The Value of Beauty

Aesthetics

Aesthetics and the value of beauty bear a direct relation on establishing moral codes and ethics that are not dependent on rigid rules and laws.

The Ancient Greek Atomistic Science has been indicated to have roots back into the Egyptian Mysteries, with direct Dionysian association with Osiris. Both the Egyptian and Greek worldviews that developed from atomistic science and philosophy established principles of government based on compassion and justice, and associated principles of logic and geometry with the concept that the Universe is founded upon laws of celestial harmonics. This gave rise to the values of aesthetic as the philosophies of Socrates, Aristotle and Epicurus (among others) recognised that happiness and fulfilment rested upon the individuals ability to express their ‘true nature’ and therefore, it is imperative for persons to act in accordance with Self Knowledge and develop their latent talents, in order to be content and complete.

Such aesthetic value placed importance on the experience of pleasure as a barometer of alignment with naturalness, as matter resonant within or from the void moves in accord with the celestial harmonics.

“Aesthetics is commonly known as the study of sensory or sensori-emotional values. Aesthetics is a subdiscipline of axiology, where Axiology (from Greek ?ξι?, axi?, "value, worth"; and ?λογ?α, ?logia) is the study of quality or value. It is often taken to include ethics, where ethics is related to the philosophy of morality. Even the word philosophy is of Ancient Greek origin: φιλοσοφ?α (philosophía), meaning "love of wisdom”.
